Students completing the 2015 online application have the opportunity to apply for any Stamford Dollars for Scholars scholarships for which they meet the criteria.

Additionally, as Stamford Dollars for Scholars is an affiliate of Scholarship America, applicants automatically gain access to Scholarship America's valuable resources and can search other relevant scholarships opportunities.


Agabhumi Scholarship for Community Service
in honor of Doris Kirshbaum

This is a one-year scholarship.  It is awarded to a student showing dedication to his or her community.  The student can attend a four-year or two-year college or university, or a vocational school program.

 

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Scholarship

This general award is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000.  Open to any student graduating a city of Stamford high school OR a Stamford resident graduating from an out of town high school. The student must be planning to be a full-time student at an accredited 2 or 4 year college/university. Eligibility is based on a combination of need and academic performance. The student is to demonstrate the ability to succeed with a specific focus on the goal of completing the course of study.

Memorial Scholarship

This is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000.  It is awarded to a graduating AITE high school senior pursuing a career in Medical Science, including Healthcare.

 

University of Connecticut

Connecticut Information Technology Institute (CITI) 4-Year Scholarship

A renewable scholarship of $1,000 per year for four years. This Scholarship recognizes academic excellence in the area of Information Sciences or Management Information Systems or related Business Majors. The recipient of this scholarship must attend any University of Connecticut campus.

 

University of Connecticut School of Business
Connecticut Information Technology Institute (CITI) Digital Media Scholarship 

This scholarship is a one-time $1,000 award.  It is awarded to a recipient pursuing a degree in Digital Marketing or Digital media. The recipient must attend any University of Connecticut campus.

 

Connecticut Business Systems Scholarship 

This scholarship is a one-time $1,000 award.  It is awarded to a recipient graduating from the Stamford Public School System who demonstrates a financial need.

 

Eastern Land Management
Horticulture/Landscape Scholarship

This is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000.  It is awarded to a student who will be pursuing a horticulture/landscape (turf may be considered) related degree program.  The student must attend a two-year or four-year institution.

 

Fairfield County Community Foundation
Giving Day Scholarship

This is a one-year scholarship created by donations provided during the Fairfield County Community Foundation Giving Day event on March 5, 2015.  It is awarded to a student who has a financial need and is a student in good standing.  The student must attend a two-year or four-year institution.

 

Dr. Robert B. Goldman, Goldman Orthodontics,
Scholarship for Sciences

This is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000.  It is awarded to a student who will be pursuing a degree in any field of science.  The student must attend a two-year or four-year institution.

 

Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO)
Scholarship

This is a renewable scholarship open to a student attending a two-year or four-year college or vocational school.  The two-year award is $2,500 total value.  The four-year award is $4,000 total value.  It is awarded to a student with a minimum 3.0 high school GPA.  Additional consideration will be given to candidates of Indian sub-continent origin.  Scholarship is distributed over the two or four years with the goal of completing one's education.  Student will be asked to attend the GOPIO annual gala in June 2015 to be honored at the event, and volunteer in a GOPIO community activity sometime during the term of their award (based on availability).

 

Nancy J. Heron Memorial Scholarship

This is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,500.  Awards will be made to a student graduating from one of Stamford Public High Schools with preference given to a student having attended the Dolan Middle School where Nancy Heron served as Vice Principal.

 

Marina Jathanna Memorial Scholarship

This is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000.  The award is for a graduating female student pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

 

Omnicom Capital Scholarship

This general award is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000.  This award profile is open to any student graduating a city of Stamford high school OR a Stamford resident graduating from an out of town high school. The student must be planning to be a full-time student at an accredited 4-year college/university. Eligibility is based on a combination of need and academic performance.

 

Nestle Waters and Cognizant Volunteers BeeGood Award

This is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000.  It is awarded to a female graduating senior who is pursuing science, technology, engineering or math disciplines.  It is a merit-based award.

 

Robinson & Cole Scholarship

This is a $1,000 scholarship for students interested in the law.

 

Stamford Public Education Foundation
Daniela Romano Scholarship

This is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000.  Applicant must be a Stamford High School female, minority student. The official academic record/GPA must be in the top 50% of her class. Two teacher recommendations are required and one paragraph description of career plans.

 

Nina Seward Memorial Scholarship

This is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $2,000.  It is awarded to a student who will be pursuing a Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics or Engineering degree. The student must attend a four-year institution. 

 

Stamford Dollars for Scholars
Community Service Award

This is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Eligibility is based on a combination of need and academic performance. It is awarded to the student who has volunteered his or her time in support of Stamford Dollars for Scholars efforts. The student can attend a four-year or two-year college or university, or a vocational school program.

 

Stamford Dollars for Scholars/Scholarship America
Aspire Scholarship

This is a renewable scholarship that provides a potential award of $10,000.  The Aspire Scholarship is co-funded with Scholarship America and Stamford Dollars for Scholars. It recognizes applicants with demonstrated leadership and/or service to others. The successful applicant will have overcome an obstacle in pursuit of their education. Financial need must be demonstrated. Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. US Citizen. This award is a graduated award: $1,000 in year one, $2,000 in year two, $3,000 in year three and $4,000 in your senior year: totaling $10,000 over four years.

 

Stamford Federal Credit Union Scholarship

This is a one year $1,000 general scholarship.  Eligible candidates must be a resident of southern Fairfield County. Must be pursuing a degree in business, majoring in one of the following: accounting, finance, business management, economics, marketing or any related field such as international finance or business.

 

UBS Volunteers STEM Award

This is a one year $1,000 scholarship.  It is awarded to a female student pursuing education in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math  (STEM).
 

Whittingham Family Award

This is a renewable scholarship that provides a potential total award of $8,000..  The recipient must be a graduating high school senior who will be attending a 4 year institution, majoring in math, science, engineering or IS/MIS, and has demonstrated community service. Recipient will be selected based on financial need and academic achievement.

This is a renewable scholarship that provides a potential total award of $2,500. The student must be planning to be a full-time student at an accredited 2-year college/university or a program of vocational training. Eligibility is based on a combination of need and academic performance. The student is to demonstrate the ability to succeed with a specific focus on the goal of completing the course of study.  This award is a graduated award: $1,000 in year one, $1,500 in year two: totaling $2,500 over two years.
